Women's History Month Resources 2024
Each year the month of March is dedicated to the study and celebration of the contributions of women to history, culture, society, and all aspects of our common life. These contributions are just as present in the life of the Episcopal Church and The Diocese of West Missouri as they are in other areas. From the witness of women like the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Mary Magdalene, and St. Phoebe the Deacon to the pioneering ministries of women like The Rev. Florence Lim Ti Oi, The Rev. Jacqueline Means, The Rt. Rev. Barbara Harris, The Most. Rev. Katherine Jefferts Schori and our own Bishop Diane M. Jardine Bruce and countless others throughout history. It is my hope that these resources will assist you in learning more about the contributions of generations of faithful women to the mission and ministry of the Episcopal Church and to the continuous work for equity and inclusion as we seek to become a community where there is truly “no longer Jew nor Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.”
